14 new recruits have started their career at Einhell
New recruits for Einhell Germany AG: On September 1st, nine trainees and five dual students set out on the journey toward their future professional life at the leading supplier of cordless tools and garden equipment. To start with, a full month of introductory and informational sessions and internal training awaits the new recruits. To ensure that their integration into the company and development goes as smoothly as possible, the human resources department paired each new hire with an “old hand” from the previous training or academic year, as a mentor.
On September 1st, Einhell Germany AG welcomed nine trainees and five dual students, offering them a month full of diverse introductory sessions to get their careers started. These include informational and familiarization sessions, for example, as well as product training and IT basics. In addition, the departments introduce themselves and an extensive company tour is also on the agenda. The onboarding activities will be rounded off with a day trip for all Einhell trainees and students, to help them get to know each other better.
From rookie to retirement
“We feel it is highly important to provide our new colleagues with a positive, motivating start in their working life through these introductory sessions and to share with them the company’s strengths and values right from the start. This includes our open communication structure, the swift but carefully assessed decision-making in very flat hierarchies and the engagement of everyone in the company’s evolution,” says Hans-Peter Rostan, Group Human Resources Director at Einhell. “Our goal is to encourage our rookies, our young new recruits, to progress constantly on a professional and personal level, so that they are motivated and gladly remain at Einhell as long as possible, ideally even staying with us until they retire.”
Personal mentors facilitate entry into the profession
Following the motto of “you’ll never walk alone”, the company pairs each new hire with a so-called “mentor” from the previous training or academic year. This person is available as an additional personal contact to provide guidance and assistance. Exchanges also take place regularly: Between both the instructors in the current department and with the training team in Human Resources. The young talents usually know early on which field they want to get into and develop, and Human Resources is happy to implement their wishes whenever possible. According to HR manager Hans-Peter Rostan, “Generally speaking, our new colleagues are assigned to their desired department by the end of their training, making a smooth transition into the next stage of their career at Einhell.” Furthermore, when the examination phase is approaching, Einhell offers optional intensive exam preparation.
A bundle of benefits
However, in light of the shortage of skilled workers these days, the competition for young talent calls for further aspects. Therefore, Einhell is offering its new hires a full bundle of benefits from the start. This ranges from above-average vocational training pay and numerous bonuses such as holiday pay and a Christmas bonus to profit-sharing, rewards for good grades, reimbursement for travel expenses and bus and train tickets. Moreover, the acceptance rate after completing training or studies is higher than average, reaching nearly 100 percent. “At Einhell, we generally recruit exactly the number of trainees and students that we can later hire. We consciously do not offer training beyond our needs because we do not want to promote competitiveness, but rather cooperation, among the recruits,” says Hans-Peter Rostan. Industrial clerks, e-commerce managers, electronics technicians for industrial engineering, skilled warehouse logistics workers, IT specialists in systems integration and application development, as well as digitalization managers and even, since 2023, retail sales managers, among others, are trained in Landau an der Isar. The company offers a dual study program in the fields of business management, business engineering and business informatics.
